How is the grass made into Straws?

Our grass drinking straws is made from a Lepironia articulata. It is a wetland grass with hollow stem.

First the grass is collected, washed and cut into 15 or 20 cm tubes. Then the inner surface is cleaned with an iron rod. Then, the straws are left in the sun for 2 to 3 days and baked in an oven. They can be used once in restaurants and reused several times at home. The straws are the easy to preserve. The dry grass straws can be stored at room temperature for up to 6 months. Our straws heve been analyzed at the phytosanitary laboratory of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Ficheries. According to the results of the analyzes, our starws does not represent any risk for the user.

It is a great option for those who want to go green and stop using plastic straws. Our biodegradable straws from wild grass to solve the world’s plastic problem.
